Maddalena Archipelago Islands

Paradise! A triumph of natural beauty enclosed in seven major islands, the first being La Maddalena, from which it takes its name. It is followed by Caprera, Budelli, Santo Stefano, Santa Maria, Spargi, Razzoli and over 60 smaller islets. A constellation of unspoilt coves and wild bays.

Among the most beautiful bays on the island of La Maddalena, don’t miss a dive at the splendid Testa di Polpo. Called ‘Capocchia du Purpu’ by the locals because of a large natural rock resembling the head of an octopus. A pretty beach of fine, pale sand, bathed by crystal-clear waters and wonderfully azure water. The most sheltered from the Mistral wind is Cala Spalmatore, where you will find a sea that is always calm and particularly clear. For an unforgettable sunset, choose a cove under the Punta Tegge cliffs, its bare rocks of lunar charm reflecting the colors of the sky on the water. One of the most popular bays on the islet of La Maddalena is the Spiaggia di Bassa Trinita, always surrounded by white sand, Mediterranean maquis, crystal-clear waters and picture-postcard colors.

The sandy beach of Island of Caprera

Second, but only in size, is the island of Caprera. Known to many for the fortifications built in the first half of the 20th century that housed Giuseppe Garibaldi. The general spent the last years of his life there, building himself a house that has now become a museum, a place not to be missed when visiting Caprera. Paradisiacal natural landscapes and white beaches overlooked by wild coves carved into the rock, this is the scenery that awaits you. Among the highlights is the Spiaggia il Relitto beach near Punta Rossa, one of Caprera’s most beautiful beaches. With its crystal-clear green waters and an expanse of fine sand, it is particularly enchanting. Another pearl of northern Sardinia is the tiny Cala Coticcio, a fabulous rocky inlet just over 10 meters long. A spectacle for the eyes. Perfect for snorkeling.

The marvelous pink beaches of Budelli Island

The island of Budelli is located northwest of the island of La Maddalena. Close to the islands of Santa Maria and Razzoli, the closest to the Bocche di Bonifacio. Between them is a limbo of water known as I Passi (Passo del Topo and Passo degli Asinelli). The marvelous wild and very indented coastline alternates with small bays of white sand offering dreamlike scenery. To safeguard its beauty, some areas are protected from navigation and bathing. Here you will find one of the most famous beaches in the world: the enchanting Pink Beach. Not to be missed is the Spiaggia del Cavaliere, located in the north-eastern part of the island. A beautiful natural pool overlooking the Porto della Madonna.

The crystal clear waters of Spargi Island

One of the many wonders that can only be reached by sea is the island of Spargi. The eastern side will present you with some of the most beautiful beaches in the archipelago: such as Cala Corsara, Cala Granara and Cala Soraya (also called Cala Ciaccaro). All along the island you will find large rocks with the strangest shapes. Which the locals have nicknamed in a thousand different ways.

Sailing south

For those who, in addition to unspoilt nature, prefer luxury and entertainment, a few nautical miles south of Cannigione is the timeless Porto Cervo. The undisputed destination of the international jet set, home of the summer nightlife of the Costa Smeralda. Exclusive parties, social events and golf tournaments will make your MYCharter holiday unforgettable.

Not far from Porto Cervo, there is no shortage of dream beaches and breathtaking landscapes. Like the spectacular Gulf of Grande Pevero: a very large bay where even mega yachts can moor. Bathed by extraordinarily clear turquoise waters and bordered by marvelous granite rocks, it hosts the Piccolo Pevero and an islet called Li Nibani (the seagulls).

Endless wild coves topped by the green of typical Mediterranean scrub and the remains of ancient Saracen towers. Many are the small paradisiacal bays that will surprise you with their beauty. From Romazzino to the Prince’s Beach, Cala di Volpe, Liscia Ruja, and Cala Capriccioli, idyllic beaches of fine sand and shallow waters that surround the splendid Island of Mortorio.

Still further south, the paradisiacal scenery does not change: unspoiled and wild to pay homage to sailors of its immense beauty the Island of Tavolara and Capo Coda Cavallo. The only possible landing place is in the small port of Spalmatore di Terra. The white beaches are framed by sea lilies, helichrysum, and the famous bellflower named “Stellina di Tavolara.”
